Overview
The schedule board gives your team one place to see what is ready, delayed, reassigned, or overloaded. It only works well if the underlying work order dates, statuses, and assignments stay current.
Before you begin
- Make sure work orders already have meaningful statuses and assignees.
- Understand which jobs should appear on the board and which ones stay outside it.
Steps
- Open the schedule board and review any date, staff, or status filters currently applied.
- Drag or update jobs based on their actual timing and team ownership.
- Use the board throughout the day to spot bottlenecks, waiting jobs, and overbooked staff or bays.
- After reassigning work, confirm the linked work order still reflects the same owner and timing details.
Tips
- Reassigning is easiest when statuses are honest and notes explain why a job is blocked.
- If your team uses bays, keep bay assignment visible alongside schedule movement.
Troubleshooting
- If jobs are missing, check filters, permissions, and whether the status excludes them from the current view.
- If the board looks crowded but technicians are idle, your statuses are probably stale.
- If dragging work changes the visual schedule but not team behavior, reinforce that the board is an operational tool, not a passive report.
